How are roommates assigned at Emory?
DIRECT ANSWER
First-year students may mutually match with one roommate by the deadline or be assigned a roommate through Emory’s randomized process.
The 2026–27 first-year guide allows students to match with one roommate through MyHousing by June 1. Students who do not form a roommate group are assigned through the housing process; Emory notes that roughly half of first-year students receive a random roommate.
