eXp Realty for Newly Licensed Agents: Mentorship, Training and a First-Year Plan

A current, source-backed guide to eXp Realty for newly licensed agents covering New Agent Orientation, Agent Essentials, state training, the Mentor Program, GO! curriculum, FastCAP and first-year questions to verify.

Direct answerWhat matters most

eXp has a real new-agent training path rather than a single onboarding video. eXp University currently publishes New Agent Orientation, Agent Essentials and state training; its Mentor Program pairs eligible newer agents with a certified mentor and GO! curriculum; and Emerging Agent training includes FastCAP. A new licensee should still verify mentor eligibility, local broker access, lead expectations, costs and the exact support available in the state before joining.

Current program terms can change. Verify state-, team- and status-specific details directly with current eXp materials before making a brokerage decision.
First 90 days

Turn onboarding into a working launch plan.

A new-agent journey should reduce uncertainty in the order it appears: platform basics, local support, transaction confidence, pipeline and then repeatability.

Operational sequence

The first 30 days should remove uncertainty

01.1

Complete live or on-demand New Agent Orientation so the core eXp platforms, transaction systems and support paths are familiar before a client needs them.

01.2

Use Agent Essentials for business planning, lead-generation fundamentals and practical systems instead of trying to absorb the entire brokerage at once.

01.3

Add state-specific meetings, compliance training and broker contacts early because contract and licensing questions are local.

02
Operational sequence

Mentorship should be concrete, not motivational

02.1

The current Mentor Program describes certified mentors, a defined GO! curriculum and transaction guidance for eligible agents rather than an informal “call me if you need anything” model.

02.2

Current eXp materials generally place agents with fewer than three qualifying transactions in the prior twelve months into the Mentor Program, subject to state and case-specific rules.

02.3

Before joining, confirm who the mentor would be, how pairing works in your MLS, what the financial structure is and how quickly you can get help on a live client or contract issue.

Operational sequence

Build the pipeline before chasing advanced programs

03.1

FastCAP is currently described by eXp University as a six-week live program focused on habits, systems, lead generation, client management and a growing pipeline.

03.2

A first-year agent should measure conversations, appointments, signed clients, contracts and follow-up consistency—not social-media activity that never becomes pipeline.

03.3

Treat revenue share, equity and advanced leadership paths as future optionality; the first job is becoming a competent, productive agent.

04
Operational sequence

The private review should feel different for a new agent

04.1

Bring license status, start date, market, current brokerage if any, training already completed and the first milestone you want to hit.

04.2

Ask who will help with contracts, showings, open houses, transaction systems and client questions before you need the answer.

04.3

Leave with a 30/60/90-day plan and named support paths instead of a generic brokerage presentation.

Questions that change the decision

Resolve the hard questions before the move becomes emotional.

Does eXp have a program for brand-new agents?+

Yes. eXp University publishes New Agent Orientation, Agent Essentials, state training and a formal Mentor Program for eligible newer agents.

Who is generally required to join the Mentor Program?+

Current eXp knowledge-base materials generally describe participation for agents who have not completed three qualifying purchase or sale transactions in the previous twelve months, with waivers and state decisions handled case by case.

What is GO!?+

GO! is the curriculum used within the current eXp Mentor Program to cover transaction fundamentals, sales strategies, lead management, contracts and marketing.

What is FastCAP?+

eXp University currently describes FastCAP as a six-week live training program designed to build the habits, systems and pipeline needed to reach consistent production faster.

Should a new agent choose a brokerage because of revenue share or stock?+

Those can be researched as long-term optionality, but a first-year decision should stand on training, mentoring, broker support, realistic costs and the ability to build production.

Private first-year review

Start with the support you need now—not the production somebody expects later.

Bring your license status, market, current training, brokerage if any and the first milestone you want to reach. The useful outcome is a realistic 30/60/90-day path and a clear picture of who helps when a real transaction is in front of you.
