Start with the campus and your timeline
School and move-in eligibility
Use the official Wake Forest University source for the relevant campus and academic year before signing a lease or planning a student move into a family-owned home. A landlord’s approval does not establish university eligibility.
Parent and out-of-state planning
Match the lease or purchase timeline to the school calendar. For a remote move, verify the exact campus destination, inspection and touring arrangements, utilities, emergency access and maintenance responsibilities.
For a family purchase, verify occupancy, roommate rules, HOA restrictions, financing and the post-graduation plan for the actual home. Property-specific eligibility and availability are not established by this hub.

Housing rules, leases and roommates
How does Wake Forest describe its six-housing-credit residence requirement?
Wake Forest’s undergraduate housing policy generally requires six housing credits, subject to housing availability and published exceptions. University housing and fall or spring study abroad can earn credit. Both summer sessions together can earn one credit, and prior full-time semesters for transfer students can earn credits under the university’s rules. The requirement therefore cannot be read as six consecutive semesters physically living on campus for every student. Ask the housing office to confirm your credit record and whether an exception applies.
Source record: 2026-10-17. Residence credit is the operative measure, and ordinary first-year students are generally within the requirement. Housing availability and the published exception criteria qualify the rule; no assignment or current-capacity guarantee follows. Study-abroad, summer, and transfer-credit rules affect the calculation. This guide does not audit individual housing credits or decide a release. Guidance checked October 17, 2026.
What Fall 2027 Creekside affiliate-housing pathway does Wake Forest describe?
Beginning Fall 2027, Wake Forest describes an approved Creekside affiliate-housing option for qualifying juniors and seniors with four or more housing credits. Creekside credits can count toward the university’s six-credit requirement. The option uses a private lease and direct payment, and some scholarship holders remain ineligible. Ask the housing office to confirm your eligibility for the 2027–28 cohort and the applicable scholarship restrictions before pursuing this specific option.
Source record: 2026-10-17. This is a future Fall 2027 / 2027–28 program, as described in guidance checked October 17, 2026. This pathway is limited to Creekside and qualifying juniors and seniors with at least four housing credits; it does not authorize other private rentals. A private lease and direct payment apply, and some scholarship holders remain ineligible. This guide does not establish present-day 2026 availability, rent, lease acceptance, or the size of the eligible population.
