For Spring 2027 Homewood residence halls, the published closing time is noon on Thursday, May 20, 2027. Students must leave within 24 hours after their last final exam or by that closing time, whichever is earlier. The published instructions state that there are no exceptions to the final date and time, that rooms and suites must be clean and empty, and that J-Cards will be deactivated. Presence in a room after the noon closing is associated with a $125 fine. Work back from the student's last final when arranging packing, transport and any gap accommodation. The last university closing date is not an automatic extension for students who finish exams earlier. These instructions govern the campus residences described by the page; they do not change a private landlord's lease or establish a private rental checkout deadline.
