CFPB’s Loan Estimate guide says the homeowner’s insurance premium is set by the insurer and should be comparison-shopped; its home-purchase guidance says the first 6–12 months are usually paid at or before closing. That is general homeowner guidance, not a landlord-insurance quote. For an investment property, obtain a quote for the intended occupancy and ask the insurer which landlord, liability and other coverage applies.
