Tarleton State University
Tarleton's Community Standards policy says neither the University nor Residence Life is responsible for replacing a student's belongings after damage, loss or theft, including food kept in appliances. A later statement on the same page says the University does not provide insurance for losses of students' money, valuables or other personal effects. The policy strongly encourages students to purchase renters insurance or verify that their current homeowners insurance covers their belongings while at school. That recommendation does not establish that a student already has coverage. Check the actual insurance contract with the insurer for the student's school residence, covered belongings and losses, limits, deductible and exclusions before relying on it.
