Students requesting disability-related residence-hall accommodations for the first time should register with UMD's Accessibility & Disability Service (ADS) and follow the ADS housing-accommodations process. ADS coordinates appropriate accommodations with the Department of Resident Life. Apply early: the university warns that later requests may not be implemented before the assigned move-in date, and space or reassignment may limit timing. An accommodation request alone does not guarantee a particular room or outcome. Confirm current dates with ADS; the older 2025–26 returning-student deadline displayed on the page is not a 2026–27 deadline.
