How hard is it to get a single room at UT Austin?

UT Austin explicitly says there are very few single spaces on campus. If an incoming student requests a single and UT cannot accommodate the request, the student can be offered a shared space and automatically placed on the single-space waiting list. A family that requires a single for disability-related reasons should use the formal accommodation process rather than rely only on preference selection.
