University of Tampa: Can my student get out of the housing contract after moving in?

A resident can request release after moving in, but UTampa does not treat a change of mind as automatic cancellation.

The 2026–27 agreement allows discretionary release after occupancy for circumstances such as graduation, withdrawal, academic dismissal or another approved reason. When a release is approved, room and meal charges can be prorated under the agreement; leaving without approval can leave the resident financially responsible.
