University of South Florida: What happens if my student misses a housing deadline?
DIRECT ANSWER
This answer preserves school guidance recorded on 2026-09-01. Follow the linked university sources for current requirements, costs and dates.
The consequence depends on the deadline and can include losing selection priority, an assignment opportunity, a refund or a favorable cancellation fee.
USF publishes separate deadlines for applications, roommate groups, room selection, continuing-student lotteries and cancellations. Missing one can reduce options or change the student's financial position, so the student should contact Housing & Residential Education immediately and follow the current portal instructions.
