Compare homes with Maria-FeliciaHow to report a routine HVAC issue
For student housing, submit a routine maintenance request through USD’s housing work-order system. The Facilities page says student housing should use the Residential work request form for general requests, and Residential Life says to use the Housing Portal/TMA system for an issue in your room or apartment.
- Use the student housing request form for non-urgent HVAC or room-temperature problems.
- USD says you should submit only one request per submittal.
- Facilities Management will email you once the request is approved and scheduled.
What counts as urgent or emergency
Do not use the online work request for emergencies. USD says to call Facilities at 619-260-4250 during weekday business hours, or USD Public Safety at 619-260-2222 after 5:00 p.m. and on weekends.
- USD lists examples of emergencies such as flooding, major plumbing leaks, gas leaks, electrical outages, and fire alarm activation.
- For urgent requests, Facilities says to call instead of waiting on the online queue.
- If the problem is not urgent, the online work request is the right path.
What happens after you submit
USD says work requests are checked at 9 a.m., 1 p.m., and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. After approval and scheduling, Facilities Management sends an email update, so activation is not instant.
- Keep an eye on your email for status updates.
- Facilities does not handle telephone, internet, or cable TV repairs.
- If you’re in faculty housing rather than student housing, USD has a separate faculty housing request form.
