The short answer
Ordinary pets are generally prohibited in university housing; UCSC's packing guidance allows only limited fish-tank use, while approved service/support animals follow the disability process.
Are pets allowed in residence halls?
UCSC's packing list prohibits pets except fish in a tank within the published limit. Disability-related service or support animals may reside only through the required registration/approval process.
