Perkins and Bostock Libraries are open Monday–Thursday 8 a.m.–10 p.m., Friday 8 a.m.–5 p.m., and Saturday–Sunday 10 a.m.–10 p.m. Other Duke libraries have different hours, and Lilly Library is closed for renovation until January 2027.

Turn the answer into your next step
- Check the posted Duke Libraries hours page before visiting, because hours can change.
- If you’re asking about a specific branch, look up that branch’s hours rather than assuming it matches Perkins/Bostock.
Perkins and Bostock Libraries
If you mean Duke’s main library space, Perkins and Bostock close at different times by day: Monday–Thursday at 10 p.m., Friday at 5 p.m., and Saturday–Sunday at 10 p.m. Duke says building access is open during library hours, with DukeCard access after 7 p.m.
- Main entrance at Perkins is unassisted; Bostock’s entrance is also unassisted.
- Hours can change, so Duke points visitors to the posted library hours page before going.
- Source date: current Duke Libraries hours page and access page.
Other Duke library spaces
Duke’s libraries do not all close at the same time. For example, the Medical Center Library & Archives lists Reading Room hours Monday–Friday 8 a.m.–5 p.m., while some evening and weekend study access is available for eligible Duke Health and Duke University patrons.
- Lilly Library is closed for renovation until January 2027.
- The Medical Center Library & Archives says evenings and weekends are for study-space access, while library services and staff are 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday–Friday.
- If you need a specific library, check that library’s own hours page before you head over.
