Questions worth asking.
General guidance starts the conversation. Guy reviews the actual policy and property.
Can my homeowners policy cover my college student’s belongings?
It may extend some protection, but limits and eligibility vary. Bring the policy and the student’s living arrangement to Guy. Ask about the off-premises limit, deductible, and whether a separate renters policy changes the comparison.
What if my student lives in a property I own?
Describe who owns the home, who occupies it, whether anyone pays rent, and how it will be used during breaks. That gives Guy the facts to review the policy structure; a financing occupancy label does not establish insurance coverage.
Does my roommate’s renters policy cover my belongings?
Do not assume it does. TDI explains that a roommate’s policy protects that roommate’s belongings. Ask Guy how each resident should be identified and how separate policies or any proposed shared arrangement would work.
Is flood covered by a homeowners or renters policy?
Ordinary homeowners and renters coverage generally excludes flood. Ask about separate building and contents protection, the property address, and when a proposed policy could start.
Are these tools insurance quotes?
No. They use information you enter to organize questions and illustrate arithmetic. For pricing and policy options, use Guy’s official Goosehead quote flow or request a review.
Who receives an insurance-review request?
The request is addressed to Guy Wehman at Goosehead and Matt Dean at CollegeHousing.ai for housing-plan coordination. The form includes your contact consent and shows whether the request was saved and whether notification was confirmed.
