What happens if my student applies for UT Austin housing late?

UT Austin does not publish a single universal 'too late' date for incoming residence hall applications. Its current guidance is that the sooner a student applies, the better the chance of a contract, and assignments are made in application-date order. Late contracts and supplemental contracts exist, but preferred rooms and roommates are less certain.
