Can my student apply for housing before being admitted to UT Austin?

Yes. The student may apply after completing the UT admission application; admission does not have to be finalized yet.
UT Austin allows a prospective student to start the housing application once the university admission application is complete. A student does not need to be admitted yet to join the housing applicant pool, although admission and the enrollment-deposit requirement must be satisfied before a housing contract can be received.
