USC’s Profile section says applicants who want the online Roommate Search and Message feature should select Include in Roommate Search and create a screen name. Its optional Roommate Selection section describes requesting specific people through a roommate group, using their screen names or 10-digit USC IDs. For a request to be considered, the requested students must be in the same class-standing category—Freshman, Undergraduate or Graduate—have exactly the same housing preferences, including any Living Learning Community or graduate program, and submit mutual requests for one another. The page also describes searching possible matches from profile answers and forming a group with someone compatible. It expressly says roommate requests cannot be guaranteed and that roommate search is no longer available once assigned. A group or possible match is not confirmation of a roommate placement.
