How are roommates assigned at UC Santa Cruz?

Students may form roommate groups where eligible; otherwise Housing assigns students based on available space and assignment criteria.
During Room Selection, a confirmed roommate group can select a matching shared space if one is available. Students who do not select a space may be assigned by a Housing Coordinator. Assignment fit can include room type, community, group size and gender configuration.
