If you’re an undergraduate
Undergraduates are assigned to one of 11 unique colleges. Rice says each college has refreshed residential spaces, common areas for studying and relaxing, and dining services, and it works with the Student Disability Resource Center on accessible units.
- Wheelchair accessible rooms and rooms equipped for deaf students are available.
- If you need a specific room type, stair access, or proximity to a campus location, contact the SDRC.
- New undergraduate students should notify the SDRC of special housing needs by June 1.
If you’re a graduate student
Graduate Housing applications for the 2026–2027 academic year are still being accepted through Rice’s Graduate Portal. Accessible housing units are available for graduate students in all university residences, and new graduate students requesting accommodations in Rice graduate housing units should notify the SDRC by May 15.

Dining and daily life
Rice dining includes residential dining, and the dining site lists fall and spring schedules plus meal plan registration dates. The dining page also says halal-certified meats are prepared fresh and available at all serveries, and that Rice partners with the SDRC for meal plan accommodations.
