When exactly can my student move in, and do they need an appointment?
Georgia Tech's Academic Year 2026–27 move-in schedule lists centralized move-in for new first-year, transfer and graduate residents on August 15–16 and additional decentralized move-in August 18–22. Residents use My Housing to choose the applicable arrival appointment.
Can my student move in early?
Georgia Tech Housing says it does not offer individualized early arrival simply for convenience. Students whose official program requires an earlier arrival should follow that program/Housing process; otherwise they should use their scheduled move-in window.
What should we bring, and what should roommates coordinate before move-in?
Housing recommends Twin XL bedding, toiletries, laundry supplies and other essentials and publishes specific appliance limits. Roommates should coordinate items such as the refrigerator, microwave, television, cleaning equipment and kitchen supplies so the room is not overcrowded with duplicates.
What happens at move-out, and what do we do with belongings?
Georgia Tech's 2026–27 contract and Move-Out guidance require residents to vacate properly, remove personal property, clean the space and complete the official checkout process. Property left behind may be treated as abandoned, and improper/late checkout or damage can generate charges. Spring 2027 Housing staff planning shows the May move-out period, while residents should follow the exact My Housing notice for their final deadline.
