Georgia Tech permits guests with the agreement of the other residents in the room, suite or apartment. The resident host must meet and escort guests, is responsible for their behavior, and roommates can veto a guest.
What are quiet hours?
Georgia Tech's current residence-hall policy sets quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 10 a.m. Sunday–Thursday and 12 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday–Saturday. Hall Council may only expand those hours, and exam periods use 24-hour quiet hours.
Can overnight guests stay in my student's room?
Georgia Tech permits overnight guests when roommates agree. The host must escort the guest and accept responsibility for behavior; the policy caps stays at three consecutive nights in a seven-day period and 10 nights per semester.
Is alcohol allowed in Georgia Tech residence halls?
Georgia Tech Housing follows the legal drinking age. Residents 21+ may possess and consume alcohol as a private activity in their own private living area, while underage possession/use, open containers in public residential areas, common containers, providing alcohol to minors and unsafe alcohol-related behavior are prohibited.
Are pets allowed in residence halls?
Georgia Tech Housing permits harmless aquatic fish in tanks up to 10 gallons and otherwise prohibits pets. Service and emotional-support animals are governed by disability/animal procedures rather than the ordinary pet rule.
