Can first-year students bring a car?
Georgia Tech Parking and Transportation publishes student parking permits for the 2026–27 academic year without excluding first-year students. A resident who brings a car still needs the correct permit and must use the assigned/authorized areas.
Is there late-night transportation or an escort service?
Georgia Tech's Stingerette operates nightly from 8:00 p.m. to 3:15 a.m., subject to holiday/event changes. GTPD also states students who cannot obtain late-night transportation may call police for a safety escort to a residence hall or other campus building.
