How to report an HVAC problem

For a heating, ventilation, or air-conditioning issue in student housing, CSUMB says to submit a work order through the MyHousing Portal. The Housing Safety and Facilities page lists HVAC under building maintenance and says to log in with your CSUMB account, then choose Work Order — My Space for an issue inside your room or suite.

• Submit the work order in the MyHousing Portal after logging in with your Otter ID and CSUMB password.

When to call instead of waiting

CSUMB says to call Facilities Management immediately for a maintenance emergency, with examples including overflowing water, sparks, or smelling gas. The university’s housing page also says residents should contact their Resident Advisor for emergencies.
